The Tour de France which begins this Saturday in Florence is the biggest race in the world. Also the most profitable. Thus, for this 111th edition of the Grande Boucle, a total of 2 573 202 € will be distributed to the riders throughout the different stages, rankings and intermediate sprints.
A fifth of the total prize money of this Tour de France will go into the pockets of the winner of the general classification, i.e. 500 000 €. His dolphins will respectively pocket 200 000 et 100 000 €.
Each rider finishing the Grande Boucle will enjoy a bonus of at least 1 000 €. The wearer of the prestigious yellow jersey will receive a daily income of 500 €.

The secondary rankings will also be highly rewarding. Thus, the winners of the mountain ranking and the points ranking will receive a bonus of 25 000 €, while the best young rider in this Tour de France will pocket €20,000. The wearer of each of these jerseys will receive a daily income of 300 €.
Bonuses for all tastes
Each stage winner will receive €11,000. The first twenty in each stage will receive a small bonus. The rider designated as the most combative of the stage will touch on his side 2 000 € while the Super combative of the Tour will pocket 20 000 € of earnings.
The best team at the end of the Tour de France will win a bonus of 50 000 €.
The first three of each intermediate sprint will also be spoiled (1 500 €, 1 000 € et 500 €), while premiums will vary for passages at the top of hills and passes. Thus going to the head of a non-category pass will grant 800 €, while crossing a 4th category hill in the lead will “only” bring in 200 €.
Finally, several special bonuses are set up by the organizer: the Henri Desgrange Souvenir (5 000 €) for the rider who will pass in the lead at the summit of the Col du Galibier, the Souvenir Jacques Goddet (5 000 €) for the rider who takes the lead at the top of the Col du Tourmalet, or a bonus for the best teammate each week (3 x 3 000 €), elected by a jury of specialists.
