And five-month-old baby found dead in car while it was parked in direct sunlight. According to initial investigations, the father went to work with the baby in the car, but he was supposed to drop him off at the childminder’s beforehand, which he forgot to do.
He parked in his company parking lot, gone to work, and left the baby five months in the siege in the back. He spent the whole day there. The high temperatures – over 30 degrees in the shade on Friday June 28 in Toulouse – caused the infant to develop hyperthermia. They then led to dehydration which would prove fatal.
Emergency services were called around 5pm when the baby was found. Unfortunately, they were not nothing could be done to save him. The parents, in a state of shock, are taken care of by a psychological unit. The Toulouse public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation.
