The days of Pape Gueye at Olympique de Marseille. The Senegalese announced his departure from the Marseille club.
Summer 2020, Pope Alassane Gueye disembarks at theOM from Le Havre FC. A transfer problem raised by Watford and 4 months of suspension then the midfielder fully integrated into the Marseille squad. He played 60 matches in Ligue 1 over two seasons.
But then the problems began and the native of Montreuil was sent on loan to Sevilla FC. He comes back but still does not win with his club. On the contrary, the 25-year-old player is having trouble with OM who did not want to let him go to the CAN. Worse, Pape Gueye refuses to extend his contract which ended in June.
We now know the reason. As announced months ago, the Senegalese international will not continue his career at Canebière. The midfielder confirmed his departure on Monday.
“Thank you and goodbye Marseille,” he wrote in a post on Instagram.
