Since the beginning of the afternoon, the Médiouna regional hospital, located on the outskirts of the city, has been facing a massive influx of patients presenting symptoms of poisoning. More than fifty people were admitted to the emergency room after eating meals at this downtown restaurant.
On site, medical staff mobilized to care for the patients, some of whom were in serious condition. While some patients were able to return home after receiving first aid, others had to be transferred to the Ibn Rochd University Hospital Center in Casablanca, reports Hespress.

In front of the hospital, the concern was palpable. Families and loved ones of the victims gathered to get news, demanding stricter controls on food establishments. “The relevant services are not doing their job! » denounced some on social networks, joining consumer associations who have long called for a strengthening of health inspections in restaurants, particularly fast-food restaurants.
Local authorities should announce the opening of an investigation to determine the exact causes of this collective poisoning and establish the responsibilities of the establishment in question.
