Trailing 29-7 at half-time on the pitch of the promoted Vannes team, Union Bordeaux-Bègles turned everything around after returning from the locker room to finally win 29-37 at the end of a spectacular match with a crazy scenario.

Manhandled or even humiliated for 40 minutes by the daring and uninhibited Vannes residents, Yannick Bru's men scored a major away success (29-37) on Saturday evening, during the 10th day. Abandoned by their opener Matthieu Jalibert, “sulking” of the XV of France earlier in the week and starter at kick-off, unfortunately injured in the knee in the 10th minute of play, the Union Bordeaux-Bègles went through all the emotions on the lawn of Vannes.
In the middle of a nightmare in the first period and led 29-7 at the break (Ben Tapuai scored the first Gironde goal (40th) just before half-time), following the Vannes attempts of Michael Ruru (4th), Francis Saili (13th) , Paul Surano (19th) and Mako Vunipola (32nd), the vice-champions of France signed an impressive reaction of pride in the second act.

During the last 40 minutes, the Bordelais showed a completely different face, the one we are used to seeing, fierce and confident, who swept away the Vannes by scoring 30 points. Cyril Cazeaux went for his double, including the first try from the restart (41st) before flattening with force a few minutes later (64th). Arthur Retière was also responsible for calming the Breton enthusiasm at the start of the second period (46th). An RCV which seemed to evaporate as the minutes passed, weighed down by the two yellow cards on the same action from Paul Surano (56th) and Francis Saili (56th).
UBB needed no less to achieve a second away success in the league this season and overthrow the local team, Fanny in the second half, who remain bottom of the Top 14. The Bordelais consolidate their second place in the ranking, just behind Stade Toulousain, thanks to this unexpected success in Brittany.
