The Executive Secretariat of the Union for the Development of Authentic Senegal (UDS/A), took an important strategic decision this Thursday, November 7, 2024, by announcing its official support for the Pastef list for the legislative elections scheduled for November 17, 2024 This announcement was made at the end of a meeting under the co-chairmanship of Mr. Amadou Oumar Guèye, Deputy Secretary General of the party and Mr. Abdoulaye Diop, president of the party’s Sages, reports “LeSoleil-Digital”. .
The UDS/A’s decision follows extensive consultations with the party base, as well as a key meeting with Dean Alla Kane, president of Maggi Pastef. The latter, invested in an honorary and symbolic place on the Pastef list led by Ousmane Sonko, benefits from the full confidence of the UDS/A, because of his unfailing commitment to the social and political causes of Senegal. The Secretary General of the UDS/A, Adji Diarra Mergane, expressed her deep respect and admiration for Dean Alla Kane, whom she considers her spiritual and adoptive father.
Doyen Alla Kane, historic figure of the Senegalese left, is recognized for his major role in the defense of rights and social justice in Senegal. This support from the UDS/A aims to strengthen the representativeness of the Senegalese people within the National Assembly, by highlighting a personality who embodies constancy, dignity and authenticity, in the fight for a sovereign and fair.
In its press release, the UDS/A also launched an appeal to all its activists and sympathizers, both nationally and internationally, to actively engage in favor of the Pastef list, with the aim of guaranteeing a resounding victory for the party. The support of the UDS/A is part of a common vision of moving the country towards a more just, prosperous and sovereign society, under the leadership of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye.
