Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghai on Friday strongly condemned the airstrikes carried out by the United States and the United Kingdom on Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, and Saada province.

TEHRAN, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) — Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghai on Friday strongly condemned the airstrikes carried out by the United States and the United Kingdom on Yemen’s capital Sanaa and the province of Saada.

He made the remarks in a statement released by the ministry, a day after the Houthi group reported that American and British planes had carried out six raids on Sanaa and nine on the northern province of Saada.

Mr. Baghaï described these airstrikes as “flagrant violations of the United Nations charter and the rules of international law”, which prohibit the use of force against other countries and call for respect for their territorial integrity. .

He added that the air raids carried out by the United States and the United Kingdom against Yemen, alongside their continued military and political support for the Israeli “genocide” in Gaza and the massacres in Lebanon, constituted clear evidence of their complicity and partnership with Israel in its “crimes”.
