Cornebarrieu. Cancer conference at the Aria

A few days ago, a conference was held at the Aria to understand, prevent and screen for breast cancer, cervical cancer and other cancers linked to HPV. The mayor of the town, Alain Toppan, opened the conference by emphasizing the importance of collective mobilization to raise awareness, inform and detect breast cancer. He also thanked the health professionals of Cornebarrieu for their contribution to this evening. Among them were general practitioners and midwives from the town, gynecologists from the Cèdres clinic, who all played a key role in raising awareness of this cause.

The evening was structured around several themes: understanding breast cancer, cervical cancer and HPV-related cancers, daily means of prevention and the importance of screening.

At the end of the presentations, a self-examination workshop was offered, allowing participants to better understand the early detection of cancer. Elodie Carrer, head of the Cèdres laboratory, also presented HPV self-sampling, an important method for prevention.

At the end of the conference, specific prevention consultation slots were available upon pre-registration, thus emphasizing the importance of regular medical follow-up.

The public was able to take the opportunity to view the exhibition of photographs by Sylvie Trantoul entitled “Face à la Lumière, notre support rose”, open according to the opening hours of the media library, and which remains on display until October 31.
