A wedding procession disrupted traffic in Montpellier this Saturday, October 12. The mayor canceled the celebration and plans to file a complaint.
The party degenerated this Saturday in Montpellier (Hérault). The city’s mayor, Michaël Delafosse, canceled the celebration of a wedding due to “multiple traffic violations” committed by certain members of the procession. He also announced the filing of several complaints.

Since September 2020, Montpellier town hall has systematically had couples wishing to get married sign a Marriage Charter. This document provides, among other things, for the cancellation of the celebration in the event of a disturbance to public order. Michaël Delafosse therefore acted accordingly, believing that “it is out of the question that the public authority would accept such actions”.
In a separate press release, the municipality underlined “the seriousness of the facts” and also denounced “insults against agents holding public authority”, in addition to the “endangering of others”. “In addition to the cancellation of the wedding celebration, complaints” will therefore be filed.
