A suspension hangs over the head of Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson. The Senegalese punched an opponent after Sunday’s match against Nottingham Forest.
The incident occurred at the end of Sunday’s match between Chelsea and Nottingham Forest which ended in a frustrating 1-1 draw at home. There was a commotion on the field, as you often see in football, but at the end of the game, Jackson was involved in a brief scuffle.
The Senegalese international could not control himself and punched Forest defender Morato in the face. The refereeing missed the moment, but there is footage of it, allowing the Premier League disciplinary committee to open an investigation.
If that happens, Jackson could face a suspension that will see him miss at least the next Premier League match against Liverpool in two weeks. It will be another blow for Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.
Indeed, Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana will miss the meeting at Anfield due to their fifth yellow card.
