The Africa Women’s Sevens 2024 ended this Sunday, November 10, 2024. The Lionesses of Senegal were not up to par during this tournament by accumulating poor results, as evidenced by their last classification match against the host country , Ghana (17-00).
After a very poor record for Senegal in the group stage, with two defeats against Zambia (10-05) and Uganda which is a humiliation (39-00), as well as a victory against Ivory Coast (17 -05). In the ranking confrontations, the Lionesses hit rock bottom by conceding three consecutive losses against South Africa (50-00), Zambia (31-07) and Ghana (17-00), worrying results which must encourage the girls of El Hadji Omar Cissé to work to better prepare for upcoming deadlines.
South Africa was crowned champion by dominating Kenya in the final (19-10) and third place was won by Uganda to the detriment of Madagascar (17-05). These four teams are qualified for the 2025 Challenger Series.
