Regional Governor Al Hassan Sall officially installed yesterday, Friday October 4, the regional and departmental committees of Saint-Louis responsible for the fight against irregular migration. Made up of more than twenty members, this regional committee will work in synergy with the departmental committees to put an end to the loss of human life often recorded at sea. The ceremony took place in the presence of the Permanent Secretary of the Interministerial Committee for the Fight against Irregular Migration (CILMI). During this meeting, the Governor of Saint-Louis Al Hassan Sall recalled that the regional and departmental committees of CILMI remain open and can welcome other personalities to better ensure their functioning. The head of the regional executive invited young people to get closer to the various services set up by state authorities with the aim of promoting their employment and employability. The permanent secretary of the Interministerial Committee to Combat Irregular Migration (CILMI), Modou Diagne, for his part invited the populations to accompany him in his mission. The Controller General of Police also indicated that the installation of these committees marks a decisive turning point in the fight against this phenomenon and makes it possible to decentralize this fight which brings together the different State services and civil society in the same entity.
