It’s official ! Sophie Adenot becomes the second French woman astronaut after Claudie Haigneré. Following a year of intensive training in Cologne, she has just received her astronaut certificate.

After Thomas Pesquet in 2010, once again has something to rejoice with when Sophie Adenot obtained her astronaut diploma. She becomes the second French woman to obtain this title, after Claudie Haigneré. In an interview on France 2, Sophie Adenot says: I was 14 when Claudie Haigneré made her first trip into space. For me, this was clearly a trigger. »

Engineer, pilot, colonel in the Air Force and now astronaut, Sophie Adenot is a woman of action. Today she is realizing her dream of space. After a year of training at the European Astronaut Center in Cologne, Germany, she will now have to continue her preparation at the NASA center. From 2005 to 2022, Sophie Adenot evolved within the Air and Space Force. Always with the same dream in mind: to become an astronaut.
