A tragic accident took place on the A1 motorway between Rolle and Aubonne during the night from Saturday to Sunday.

For a reason that the investigation will have to determine, a motorist, alone in her white VW Beetle and traveling between Rolle and Aubonne, lost control of her vehicle. The latter left the roadway and, after rolling several times, he ended his swerve on the roof, in a field.

It was a motorist traveling on the A1 towards Lausanne who, shortly before 1:00 a.m., informed the Centrale Vaudoise Police (CVP) that a car was on its roof, in a field, on the edge of the highway.

Despite the rapid intervention of emergency services, the driver of the vehicle, a 41-year-old Swiss woman living in the Morges district, died on the spot.

The duty prosecutor opened an investigation. He entrusted the investigations to specialists from the traffic unit of the Vaud Gendarmerie.

The police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone able to provide information about the accident is asked to call 021 343 15 10 or to contact the nearest police station.

The right lane of the motorway, towards Lausanne, was closed for several hours to allow emergency services to intervene and for the purposes of the report. This event required the intervention of 4 patrols from the Vaud Gendarmerie, including specialists from the traffic unit for the technical report and the investigation, an ambulance from Nyon, an SMUR doctor from Morges, the Emergency Support Team (ESU) and DGMR staff (SIERA).
