A day late. While music resonated in all the streets as traditionally this Friday, June 21, France 2 did not offer its evening “The Music Festival” on Saturday, June 22, so as not to find itself facing the France / Netherlands match of Euro 2024. The 1.7 million viewers (the fourth best audience of the evening) tuned in to their TV were transported to Reims for this evening of music. While Slimane opened the ball with his song “Mon amour”, which represented France at Eurovision, M PokoraAmir (“Summit”), Christophe Willem (“PS I love you”), Soprano (“Easy to dance”), Patrick BruelHugues Aufray (“Santiano”), Dany BrillantSanta or Roch Voisine followed one another on stage throughout this great event. Garouco-presenter of the evening with Laury Thilleman, even sang the song several times!

“Time comes and goes”

If the evening was marked by celebration, one moment touched the hearts of viewers. In order to pay tribute to Françoise Hardy, who died at the age of 80 following a long-term cancer, Coeur de Pirate wanted to send her a final musical farewell. Instead of the usual “Personal message”, “All the boys and girls” or “Comment te dire adieu”, which are skyrocketing in the French charts, the Canadian singer focused on “Le temps de l’amour”. Alone on stage, the artist and former “Dancing with the Stars” competitor re-appropriated this classic dating from 1962 with palpable emotion.

When time comes and goes / We don’t think about anything / Despite our wounds / Because the time of love / It’s long and it’s short / It lasts forever / We remember it »: words which have taken on another meaning for two weeks and which have been widely applauded by the Reims public. Note that, later in the evening, Coeur de Pirate returned to the stage to sing her big hit “Comme des enfants”.
