Julien Doré fans, mark your calendars: July 17, Impostor, the singer’s sixth studio album, will be available for pre-order. The 41-year-old artist announced the good news this Sunday, with a teaser video which shows behind the scenes of the recording of this opus. An opus like no other since it will only be composed of covers.

A fun nod to his participation in telecrochet New star, which he won 17 years ago. On the set of the M6 show, he seduced the jury and the public with his very personal and daring covers. Julien Doré managed to show his identity by singing the words of others and he notably caused a sensation with a version of his own of Hi, LolitaAlizée’s essential hit. Hi, Lolitawhich can also be found on the tracklist of his future album.

What other hits will make up this album Impostor ? As he used to do during New star, Julien Doré has chosen to surprise and revisit hits – from yesterday and today – often very far from his repertoire, in order to be able to completely re-appropriate them. Among the songs included in the album: Provided they are soft by Mylène Farmer, All the women in your life L5, The Midnight Demons Image or Femme Like U of K-Maro and La Kiffance from Naps.
Also note that Julien Doré has concocted several high-flying duets for this new album. He actually shared the microphone with Francis Cabrel on A happy man by William Sheller but also with Hélène Ségara on the Italian hit Maybe it’s because I love you. As for his resumption of Words, words of Dalida, he imagined her in the company of… Sharon Stone, the iconic American actress. Proof that after 17 years of career, Julien Doré continues to have fun and surprise, to the great pleasure of his many fans.
