Gilbert Montagné hitchhiked on Saturday, September 14, while he was performing at a festival.

Gilbert Montagné was the headliner of the Pop’Cornes Festival in Russey, in the department, on September 14. But the French singer almost missed his own concert.

In the afternoon, Gilbert Montagné and one of his friends had gone for a walk in the Haut Doubs countryside. But they found themselves quite far from their hotel, reports L’Est républicain. They decided to hitchhike. And were spotted by two retirees, Évelyne and Alain.

The two retirees explained to our colleagues that they had taken another route by car after being blocked by a parade of tractors: “ I immediately turned off to take the road to Saint-Julien in Frambouhans. In this village, two men were hitchhiking “, says Evelyne, who did not hesitate to stop. How surprised I was to recognize among them Mr. Gilbert Montagné. ! »

The 72-year-old artist and his friend were able to be brought back to the Étang du Moulin, where they were staying, in time. Arriving at the festival, Gilbert Montagné began his performance (late) by thanking the retired couple.
