For their excellent “testament album” Royal Pubthe Cowboys Fringants have just received seven nominations at the ADISQ Gala, the highest total of all nominees. After 25 years of biting the dust, Jean-François Pauzé has finally received his well-deserved nomination as Author or composer of the year. From up there, Karl Tremblay must be very proud of his acolytes.

The ADISQ Gala will take place on November 3, just a few days before the first anniversary of Karl Tremblay’s death. Before his last breath, the former Cowboys leader wanted to put his mark on Royal Pub.

The project, which is linked to an equally acclaimed musical, is now a finalist in these categories: Author or composer of the year (Jean-François Pauzé), Album of the year – Popular success, Song of the year (The end of the show), Group or Duo of the Year, Album of the Year – Alternative, Album of the Year – Critics’ Choice, Video of the Year (The end of the show).

After the Cowboys come Karkwa, Salebarbes and Souldia, who each receive five nominations. Alexandra Stréliski, Aliocha Schneider, Charlotte Cardin and Roxane Bruneau each have four mentions.

For the coveted Song of the Year category, we find Together (Aliosha Schneider), The rest of the time (Andréanne A. Malette), Magical night (Ariane Moffatt), Confetti (VF) (Charlotte Cardin), Blood same (How to overflow), The end of the show (The Dashing Cowboys), Shoplifting (The Three Agreements), The habit (Rau_Ze), I’m not holding you back (Roxane Bruneau) and Little eraser (Dirtybeards).

For the female artists of the year, Alexandra Stréliski, Ingrid St-Pierre, Isabelle Boulay, Roxane Bruneau and Sara Dufour are finalists. For the men, there are Bruno Pelletier, Daniel Bélanger, FouKi, Ludovick Bourgeois and Souldia.
