Kendji Girac released “Si seulement” on August 30, a song in which he talks about his gunshot wound to the chest that occurred four months earlier. He addresses his audience when he talks about his discomfort in the chorus: “If only I had known how to tell you without having to write it on my skin. If only I had known how to talk to you about it without the fear of ruining the photo.”

This Wednesday, the 28-year-old singer is releasing the video for “Si seulement”, co-written by Vianney and Renaud Rebillaud. We see him in the sea, as if drowned, then lying on rocks, rather stranded, before the sun appears on his face and makes him open his eyes. An echo of his personal situation. Later, we see him crossing the forest – climbing back up the slope? “Forgive me if I preferred to destroy myself, even if it meant risking damaging my empire. On stage, I left my smile,” he sings.

“I am still very moved to see the clip that I did not experience as a “shoot”, I thought so much about you… I hope you like it,” he commented on his social networks.

“Si seulement” is the first single from his new album, which is due out on October 4. It will mark ten years of career for the man who was revealed by “The Voice.”

On the night of April 21-22, Kendji Girac, under the influence of alcohol and drugs, shot himself in the chest. The singer was in his caravan, where his wife and daughter were also staying. In June, the investigation was officially closed by the courts. He then spoke for the first time, apologizing to his audience and admitting to having “lost himself.”
