Texas thrash metallers Power Trip will open for Pantera on their European tour in early 2025, adding to the excitement surrounding Phil Anselmo and his band’s upcoming tour, which kicks off in January.
An emotional return to the stage for Power Trip
After a hiatus marked by the tragic loss of vocalist Riley Gale in 2020, Power Trip are back with longtime collaborator and friend Seth Gilmore on the mic. Gilmore, known for his involvement in the Texas hardcore scene and for founding the band Fugitive, was chosen to honor Gale’s memory while also bringing his own vocal touch. According to Power Trip guitarist Blake Ibanez, they didn’t want “a mere copycat, but someone who respects the Power Trip legacy while adding his own unique flair.”

Important dates in France, Belgium and Switzerland
Among the many dates of the tour, French-speaking fans will have several opportunities to see Pantera and Power Trip live. The band will stop by Brussels (Belgium) on February 10, 2025 at the Forest National, Zurich (Switzerland) on February 13 at the Hallenstadion, and Paris (France) on February 15 at the Adidas Arena. These dates are already shaping up to be highlights of the tour, in iconic venues.
A journey marked by resilience
Since Riley Gale’s passing, Power Trip have shown resilience, as drummer Chris Ulsh explains in an interview with Metal Hammer. “During the pandemic, we continued to meet [en ligne] and discussing the future of Power Trip. We wanted to continue playing together, but it was difficult to know in what form. Finally, after testing several configurations, we realized that Seth was the best person to join us on stage.”
