Official: “Emily in Paris” will return for a season 5

“Emily in ” fans can breathe a sigh of relief: the series has officially been renewed for a fifth season, as announced by Netflix on September 16. And frankly, this is great news, because we all needed to know whether Emily would end up falling for Marcello’s transalpine charm or return to the arms of the dark French chef Gabriel.

Darren Star, the series creator, is just as excited as we are. “We are thrilled with the incredible response to this season of Emily in Paris and we can’t wait to return for a fifth season to continue Emily’s adventures in Rome and Paris,” he said.

In season 4, broadcast in two parts, our dear Emily, still played by Lily Collins, leaves the Eiffel Tower and its network problems for… the Colosseum. Yes, Sylvie Grateau (played by Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) opens an office in Rome. And since Emily has found a new Italian love in Marcello (played by Eugenio Franceschini), she settles in the Eternal City.

But wait, you thought Gabriel was going to let her go so easily? Not so fast! Their breakup caused by a small “communication” problem hasn’t extinguished the flames of passion. Gabriel is determined to win Emily back, and he’s ready to do anything.
