Golo and Ritchie are making waves internationally and are planning a sequel to their documentary

Knighted by the French Internet (and even Booba), at the origin of iconic videos that we will never tire of, the duo Golo and Ritchie are now on the roof of French cinema, or almost. Since the release of their film Golo and Ritchie on August 14, in which they challenged themselves to cross France by bike, the numbers and attendance are climbing at a frightening speed, reaching today 252,000 entries, thus exceeding the 244,000 entries of The Bertrand Farm to become the biggest documentary success of the year.

The story does not end there since the documentary by Martin Fougerol and Ahmed Hamidi is making headlines internationally. Its producer Hugo Sélignac was interviewed by the leading American media Deadline on the success of the film. “It’s a phenomenal achievement for a documentary, we’re delighted. […] I’m not sure the film would have done as well a month ago… I feel like there’s a convergence with the Olympic Games in Paris and the very positive state of mind in France at the moment.”he commented in the columns of the media.

We also learn that a sequel is scheduled for 2025, for which the duo will cycle from Dakar to Grigny. As a reminder, the film tells the story of a friendship like no other between two men who grew up together in the Grande Borne district of Grigny, Golo and Ritchie, the latter suffering from an autism spectrum disorder. One day, when Ritchie is expelled from his educational center, Golo challenges him: “leave the daily life of the city to cross France by bike”.
