The summer holidays are fast approaching. For the occasion, TF1 is broadcasting Les Bronzés 3: friends for life. And if everyone agrees that this is the worst of the three parts, this one still smells of sun, beach and friends. In the casting, the whole usual Splendid clique (Michel Blanc, Thierry Lhermitte, Christian Clavier, Gérard Jugnot, Josiane Balasko, Marie-Anne Chazel, etc.) finds itself in front of the camera, 27 years after the previous opus, Tanned people go skiing (filmed in this ski resort in France).
The Bronzed 3 : where was this third film filmed?
As a reminder, The Bronzed 3 takes place almost thirty years after the adventures of the group of friends in Ivory Coast (The Bronzed) and in Val-d’Isère (Tanned people go skiing). Nathalie and Bernard, now parents, are still as stingy, Jérôme is ruined, Gigi has found love and Jean-Claude has made a fortune in the United States with his chain of hair salons. For a few summers, they have been in Sardinia, in the luxurious hotel managed by their friend Popeye. A sunny destination, then… just like the filming, which took place in the northeast of Sardinia on the Costa Esmeralda, at the Cala di Volpe hotel on the Costa Esmeralda. How did the idea for this third film come about?
This third part would never have seen the light of day without the abandonment of the film adaptation project ofAsterix in Spain with Gérard Jugnot at the helm, and in which the Splendid troupe (who admitted that Bronzés 3 was not what they had done best) was to find themselves on screen. “While Gérard was writing the script, I suggested to him the idea of all of us coming together for appearances in the film. He thought the idea was good, but he didn’t like it. And then, one day when I went to see him at the theater, he told me the news: the film had just flopped. He was very annoyed and sad, the evening wasn’t very happy and I asked him why we didn’t do something together. It was just the pretext from which it all started“, explained Christian Clavier to Cinélive at the time.
