Did you know that the same year as “Pirates of the Caribbean”, Brad Pitt starred in a film worthy of the adventures of Jack Sparrow? Focus on a little-known stage in the career of the Hollywood star.

Do you think you know everything about Brad Pitt’s filmography? So we’re going to try to catch you out: have you already heard of this film where the Hollywood star plays a sailor in an adventure worthy of Pirates of the Caribbean, the first part of which was released the same year? You have a few seconds to think…

It was in 2003, in the animated film Sinbad – The Legend of the Seven Seas, that Brad Pitt played a sailor, lending his voice to one of the most famous of them all, the legendary Sinbad. A somewhat forgotten adventure from DreamWorks studios in which the hero, accused of having stolen the Book of Peace, is responsible for returning the precious work, failing which his best friend, Proteus, will die. Accompanied by the latter’s fiancée, the sailor will quickly find himself confronted with terrible dangers…

Sinbad – The Legend of the Seven Seas is the very first experience of Brad Pitt in the field of animation, and he enjoyed it immensely. “I loved making this, it’s really my kind of film”declared the actor in 2003 au micro de The Early Show. “I have nieces and nephews that I’m crazy about and I wanted to do something that would please them.”

Brad Pitt, such a fan of his character Sinbad that he sympathetically renamed him Sin-Brad, is accompanied for the occasion by a great vocal cast including Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michelle Pfeiffer and Joseph Fiennes. Note that in VF, the main voices are provided by Patrick Bruel and Monica Bellucci.

What if we gave sailor Brad Pitt a second chance?

After this very nice Sinbadwhich was unfortunately a failure at the box office (80 million receipts worldwide for a budget of 60 million) and to which you should give a second chance, Brad Pitt tried his hand at animation again with Megamind and Happy Feet 2.

Brad Pitt, who will soon star in a film with a record budget, will be starring in Wolfs, an action comedy which sees him reunite with George Clooney sixteen years after Burn After Reading. Theatrical release scheduled for September 18.
