Completely unknown to the general public just a few years ago, Brigitte Macron has become a leading figure in France. As a reminder, this former teacher officially became the First Lady, following the election of her partner, Emmanuel Macron, as President of the Republic in 2017. A symbolic status that Brigitte Macron should retain until the end of her partner’s second term in 2027. Like many public figures, the First Lady has seen several rumors spread about her in recent years. One of them claims that she is in fact a transgender woman. This famous rumor spread mainly following the broadcast of a long “interview” of more than four hours on YouTube in 2021. In the interview in question, two women mainly spoke: Amandine Roy and Natacha Rey. The first describes herself as a “medium”, while the second claims to be a “self-taught independent journalist”.

During this famous interview, Natacha Rey had notably uttered the words “deception”, “fraud”, and “state lies” when discussing the rumor that Brigitte Macron was initially a man, who then changed sex. Ultimately, the two women were sued for defamation by the First Lady. On Thursday, September 12, 2024, they were finally convicted, as the Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed to franceinfo.
