Spanish Radio Television once again irritates the Polisario. During one of the RTVE broadcasts, a state organization published the complete map of Morocco including Western Sahara. In a press release bearing the seal of its representative in Spain, the Front stressed that “the territory of Western Sahara has been occupied since 1975 and its sovereignty belongs to the Sahrawi people, as recognized by the Court of Justice of the European Union” .
And to recall that “this is the second time that this has happened, since in October 2023, a communication was also sent (to RTVE) concerning another card with the same characteristics. On this occasion, it was attributed to an error.
Faced with pressure from far-left groups, which support the government of Pedro Sanchez, the general director of RTVE, Elena Sanchez Caballero, was forced in December 2023 to present her “apologies” to the supporters of the Polisario. In a response to a written question from the deputy of the Izquierda Unida (United Left) party, Enrique Santiago, she then described the dissemination of the map of Morocco, including the Sahara, as an “error”.
-The Polisario has not yet commented on the publication by the CIA of the complete map of Morocco.
