Who are they?

Respire is a new citizen movement which brings together residents from several collectives (Bussière Riverains, the Grande rue collective, the Jean-Macé collective) and the associations La Ville à vélo and Janus. “We are also in close contact with Greenpeace , La rue est à nous, Droit du pedestrian and FCPE Rhône.”

Policy ?

“We are not going to seek political support but it is legitimate for competent public figures to show support for our action. We support a public policy of alternative mobility, but we are not a political movement. Clearly, the Metropolis has not asked us anything, we are not its armed wing but just people who live and/or work, consume here.”

Their reason for being

They want better sharing of public space in a city designed for living beings, and not for an object: the car. “We observe daily that our city center is not just a traffic axis…
