A head-on collision with a school bus on Highway 955, near the municipality of Saint-Valère in Centre-du-Québec, resulted in the death of the driver of the car involved.

The bus driver was taken to a hospital. According to the Sûreté du Québec, she suffered “serious injuries”. “It is too too early to know if his life is in danger,” said an SQ spokesperson. The bus was not carrying any passengers at the time of the accident.
The collision occurred at 6:30 a.m. Thursday morning near kilometer 6 of Highway 955. For an unknown reason, the driver veered out of his lane and hit the school bus. His death was pronounced on site, according to the SQ. A local media, The New Unionreports that the bus was flipped onto its side. Firefighters from the Bulstrode Intermunicipal Fire Safety Authority had to use extrication equipment to free the driver.
As of this writing, mid-morning, Highway 955 was still closed to traffic in this area.
