Sylvester Stallone, Mel Gibson and Jon Voight will act as “special ambassadors” for Donald Trump in Hollywood with the aim of restoring the image of American cinema which has, according to the president-elect, lost its panache “in the face of foreign countries”.
“It is my honor to announce that Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone will be special ambassadors for the great but troubling Hollywood, California, which has lost its reputation over the past four years facing foreign countries,” he declared on his Truth Social platform on Thursday.
These three big names in American cinema will act as “the eyes and ears” of the president, who promises to implement their suggestions in order to bring back the “golden age of Hollywood”.
The three actors, considered giants of the 7th art, all gave their support to the elected Republican during the last presidential campaign.
They are the last allies of the American president to have been granted important roles within the American administration.
