The government has launched several initiatives to establish the official character of Amazigh, according to Baitas – Telquel.ma

DIn this regard, reception services in administrations and public institutions have been strengthened by the provision of 464 Amazigh-speaking agents, in addition to the mobilization of 69 Amazigh-speaking agents in call centers, said Baitas in response to the questions from journalists during the press briefing, following the weekly meeting of the Government Council.

The Amazigh language has also been integrated into nearly 3,000 signs and signs as well as into official electronic sites, he continued, stressing that a study is underway to assess the level of integration of this language in the websites of 158 public administrations.

The government official also recalled that the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports is currently benefiting from support for the creation of an online learning platform for the Amazigh language for the benefit of students, noting that since the start of the government’s mandate, the number of recruitments of Amazigh language teachers has increased from 200 to 600 this year.

Baitas also reviewed the measures taken to establish the official character of Amazigh, including the broadcast of the press briefing of the government spokesperson in Amazigh since its launch three years ago and the organization by the departments concerned by culture, in particular the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, of a multitude of Amazigh cultural events.

He also emphasized the importance of King Mohammed VI’s decision to establish the first day of the Amazigh year, an official paid public holiday.
