His history with Stade Briochin
“When you spent five years at a club with 120 matches played, when you helped write part of its history and when your daughter was born there, it was legitimate for me to come and answer your questions before this meeting. I have exceptional memories of my time (Editor's note: as a player from 1992 to 1997) with easy moments and others where it was less so. But from a human and sporting point of view, it will remain an incredible adventure. We allowed this club to reach the professional level. There are also a lot of similarities with FC Annecy. It's a club that has moved up to Ligue 2 twice in its history. They have the particularity of having a president who is also a coach, it's not common. There is a real soul at Stade Briochin for its values, the gift of self, its team of extraordinary volunteers and local players like we had here with Garby or Goncalves who experienced all the epics from R2 to the League 2. In my current role as manager, I have drawn a lot of inspiration from this experience at Saint-Brieuc as a club spirit. »
The match
“We expect to meet an opponent who will defend his skin dearly. Their team reminds me of ours in N2 with experienced players who have experienced the higher level, National players who have come down to offer the club elements of very, very good level. They have a team with the experience of the next level and of these Coupe de France matches. When we have experienced this kind of emotion and you find yourself, in N2, with the possibility of re-tasting very high-level matches such as a round of 16 Cup final, I am convinced that they will be very prepare well. »

The French Cup
“For us, it is an extremely important match from an economic but also a sporting point of view. We are lucky to have taken 30 points in the first leg of the championship, which gives us a little more leeway to play the Coupe de France to the fullest. Our leaders have also made it an objective: we must be clear, clear and precise. At the heart of the period that French football is going through economically, the Cup can help improve the club's budget. It should not be neglected. The players and staff are aware that this was a stated objective from the start of the season.
The first three rounds gave some players a little more playing time. We are now reaching a stage of the competition where we must move on. The planning of the matches also allows us to have five days of recovery between the reception of Guingamp last Friday (1-4) in Ligue 2 and the future trip to Troyes (Monday January 20, 8:45 p.m.). The small downside remains this trip to Saint-Brieuc (900 km) but we made the decision to leave the day before (Tuesday) to be able to put the team in the best conditions to hope to qualify. »
FRAMEWORK ON THE TRANSFER
“He’s a boy we discovered last year against Andrézieux during the play-off match for promotion to the national U19s. He had been excellent. He came back for a week with the group to be able to observe its abilities more closely. He convinced and won over the entire staff. He's a boy with personality, character. He has no apprehension about playing at this level. It’s an element that hits, a mix of Larose and Bermont. He is able to eliminate, to go quite quickly. He has a real sensitivity to the game with, above all, a lot of skill and efficiency in front of goal. »
The market
“We were given the objective of no arrivals without departures. Ritchy Valme is expected to have meniscus surgery. His season is likely to be over and this will therefore open up prospects for, at least, an arrival (in defense) to replace him. We are also considering seizing opportunities if they arise on the condition that it does not cost FC Annecy any money.
We have become a fairly attractive club, especially for loans. We are contacted by clubs who wish to place players with us. For this to happen, it must fit within our framework with profiles capable of bringing us something. When this is the case at the start of the season, we have time to prepare them for our game project. It's less simple in winter when we need operational players straight away. But we are also open to items that could be loaned for 18 months. These are the specifications that we are introducing to certain clubs to have real continuity in the work and thus be able to anticipate next season and save time. »
The new attractiveness of FC Annecy
“It’s a whole. We benefit from past successes with players from Strasbourg or Caen. But also a coach (Laurent Guyot) and a staff including Matthieu Chalmé who have the soul of trainers to support young players in their development.
At the same time, our current 5th place in Ligue 2 also weighs. From the moment you play at the top of the table, it makes the club more attractive in the same way as the players loaned here. We observe this in the fact that certain foreign clubs ask us to place players because of our know-how in terms of managing loan items. It's a real source of pride, of course, but we had no choice (Editor's note: due to Annecy's finances, one of the smallest budgets in L2). This demonstrates to professional clubs the quality of the work carried out to achieve a win-win deal despite our recent return to the professional world (two and a half years ago). But also the consideration that we can have for loaned players, which is not the case everywhere. »
The successes of recruits from the amateur world
“Here again, there is know-how but the player must be of quality and the framework in which he arrives fits with a well-identified style of play to help them integrate more easily. We also have experienced players like Ahmed Kashi or Vincent Pajot to guide them on a daily basis. It is very important to be able to rely on these staff relays to facilitate integration. »
Departures
“There will only be one on condition that those who have less playing time can find interesting projects. If we take the case of Noha Lemina, he remains a young player aged only 19 with a particular profile who needs time on the athletic side to meet the requirements of our game project. For Goteh Ntignee, it can be a eventuality. The players are under contract and we are not in a position to ask them to leave absolutely. We have to find a project that suits them, either a loan or a definitive termination from the moment the club finds itself there too. »
