Will he snow this weekend? While there are only five departments on snow and ice alert for the day of Thursday January 16, 2025, this possibility cannot be ruled out.
By observing the Meteociel site, we can notice that some models predict future snowfall accumulationshowever not visible on all maps. “It seems quite limited” in any case outside mountainous regions, tempers meteorologist Guillaume Séchet, contacted by actu.fr.
Snowflakes over central and eastern France
There is still a probability that a few flakes fall in central and eastern France at the end of the week. More precisely “between the north-east and the south of the Paris basin, around Friday, Saturday”, continues the creator of the site meteo-villes.com.
For its part, Météo France (which does not rely on all models) only announces, in its forecasts, “snowfall from 800 to 1,000 m on the Corsican terrain and the Pyrénées-Orientales”.
In any case, the meteorologist concludes, the weekend could “bleach the ground a little” in places, “but it won’t be massive snow.” Above all, “time will remain calm over the next few days, the anticyclone will not move.”
What do the weather models say?
The weather should therefore remain a bit like this Wednesday morning: with greyness and fairly low temperatures and potentially some browns verglaçantes.

Industrial snow?
However, we could observe industrial snow in places, indicates Guillaume Séchet. A phenomenon linked to pollution and which mainly concerns towns and industrial complexes.
Furthermore, “there was freezing rain this Wednesday morning, which is not the same thing,” underlines Guillaume Séchet. These rains affected a good part of the northern half of France this Wednesday, causing three deaths and dozens of injuries in accidents.
