Sauzé-entre-Bois is the brand new commune in the Deux-Sèvres department. Since January 1, 2025, the municipalities of Caunay, Montalembert, Pers, Pilboux and Sauzé-Vaussais merged to form one municipality.
This new municipality therefore now has 2 300 habitants and belongs to the Mellois-en-Poitou community of communes. The town hall of this commune will be the former town hall of the commune of Sauzé-Vaussais.
The municipal council of this new municipality met this Monday, January 6 to elect the mayor of this new municipality. It is Nicolas Ragotdeputy mayor of Sauzé-Vaussais who won the election and who thus became mayor of Sauzé-entre-Bois.
The municipal team gets to work
This Monday, the municipal council of this brand new municipality met for the very first time. Office hours in the town halls of the former municipalities will continue at the same hours as before the merger of the five municipalities.
The municipal council of the new commune is now composed of 56 members. 14 deputy mayors were also elected this Monday, January 6. The team will remain in place until the next municipal elections which will be held in 2026.
