As announced on April 17 on the occasion of the D-100 before the Olympics, instead of the ephemeral passage of the Olympic flame, the Department has chosen to provide the clubs via their respective sports committee with sports equipment and educational stamped “Ariège Terre de Sport”. Something promised, something due…! Since this announcement, the Department has already allocated the departmental committees for Swimming, Judo, Athletics, Handisport, , Fencing, Shooting, and the USEP for 2024. At the end of 2024, the departmental elected officials of the cantons concerned: Muriel Freyche, Jean-Paul Ferré, Martine Estéban, Nicole Quillien, Fabien Guichou and Raymond Berdou, Deputy Vice-President for Sport took part in the festive events organized by the clubs and presented the last 2024 endowment which consisted of no less than 600 balls and 1,200 bibs. This initiative illustrates the deep attachment of elected officials in the community to the values of sport and its essential role in personal and collective development. By equipping young athletes, the Department not only offers the tools necessary to flourish in their practice and transmits to them the Olympic values based on respect, excellence and solidarity.
