If you’re worried about your home, pick up your phone and ask for an agent! Edgward, a sort of “Uber of security”, has just signed a partnership with the Municipality of Soral. This subsidizes the annual subscription of 50 francs for its residents. Via an application, subscribers will be able to call on agents from various security companies at an “advantageous rate”, according to the Municipality. Interview with Céline , deputy mayor in charge of security.

What prompted Soral to partner with the Edgward app?

Due to its geographical location (editor’s note: near the border)our town experiences a certain number of burglaries. Residents often have cameras to protect themselves, but are not always on site. This application serves as a complement to the security system, for example by contacting an agent in the event of a suspicious presence near the house.

Soral is a small town. We do not have enough employees to ensure permanent patrols. With Edgward, residents can choose for themselves the security services they need.

How does it work?

When they want to call an agent, subscribers open the app. There they have the choice between patrols from various security companies in the surrounding area. If their request is urgent, they can select an agent who will arrive faster but will be more expensive. But if they’re just wondering if they closed the door when they left, residents can call on a slower, less expensive service.

Private security agents cannot replace the police…

Of course not! But this service has the advantage of reassuring elderly people living alone in our town. Instead of dispatching law enforcement every time they have concerns, seniors can call on officers. The application also allows you to contact the usual emergency services free of charge.

We are the first municipality to offer a subsidy to benefit from this application. This should be seen as a test allowing local residents to judge whether they need this service.
