EXCLUSIVE – After the car attacks perpetrated in Germany and the United States, the Minister of the Interior calls this Monday for “maximum alertness».
Alerted by the car-ramming terrorist attacks which plunged Germany and the United States into mourning during the end-of-year holidays, Bruno Retailleau sent a telegram this Monday to the prefects, as well as to the bosses of the police and of the gendarmerie, to ask them to keep “maximum vigilance and to strengthen security measures throughout the territory during large gatherings“. In the document, brought to the attention of the Figarothe Minister of the Interior clearly refers to the attacks of December 20 in Magdeburg (6 dead and 299 injured) and January 1 in New Orleans (14 dead and 36 injured) before asserting that these “events show how strong the threat is and how quick terrorists are to exploit possible weaknesses in the systems“.
