What changes are expected in Moselle for 2025?

Who says new year says changes! We take stock of this.

Since January 1, the price of meals has increased in the 71 college canteens in , going from €3.60 to €3.96. An increase of 10% that the Department of Moselle justifies by “the increase in food costs observed since 2022“ adding “take responsibility for a significant portion of this increase to limit the impact on families”. The gross cost of a meal is currently €9.30. As it is a single rate, all Moselle colleges are concerned.

After being voted on on July 8 during the Metropolitan Council, the creation of an intercommunal municipal police service is now effective. Currently made up of 9 agents, around twenty other municipal police officers will join the ranks. They will carry out missions in the heart of municipalities, public transport or even as rural rangers for the environment. The service is based in Frescaty and is responsible for 46 municipalities in the Metz metropolis.

Mobility

525. This is the number of km that the Region supports from 2025, on the A31, RN44, A33, RN4, or even A30 roads. The Region aims to “become a key player in mobility, combining infrastructure modernization, increased security and support for economic development”. This will notably involve the modernization of the A31 in “including arrangements to improve traffic flow and reduce accidents”. The first developments will be made on this highway, mainly between the Metz- axis for a cost of 1.1 million euros. In total, the work on all 525 km of roads entrusted by the State amounts to 1 billion euros of investmentswhich should be compensated by the establishment of a “heavy goods vehicle eco-contribution” from 2027. Note that this management by the Region is a experiment planned until 2029intended to be perpetuated “if it proves conclusive”.

Don't say anymore SMITH to talk about the joint urban transport union Fensch, but SUBJECThear “Territories and Mobility Moselle North”. A change of identity aimed at marking a turning point towards sustainable mobility, by integrating, among other things, the use of clean energy vehicles, and strengthening intermodality, particularly with rail.
