In the last episode of the series “Dames de Dames”, we follow the tribulations of Marianne, a young Senegalese high school student. Coming from a modest family and attached to the traditions of her country, Marianne embodies hope and perseverance. She dreams of lifting her family out of poverty by pursuing a career in IT.
Despite her reserve and modesty, Marianne does not go unnoticed. Her face, partly hidden under a hijab, captivates and attracts male attention, to the point that she becomes the target of harassment. Aware of the danger to which his daughter is exposed, Marianne’s father considers drastic measures to protect her, including the possibility of an arranged marriage.
This complex and worrying situation is presented in episode 37, highlighting the challenges Marianne must overcome. This story was initially shared by our colleagues from the Kawtef site, who give us a poignant overview. The shadow of the arranged marriage looms over Marianne’s future, adding to the dramatic tension of this episode.
