Two amendments were signed in December 2024 at the headquarters of Pré-Bocage Intercom (PBI), at Aunay-sur-Odon (Les Monts d'Aunay), in .

The first concerns the Contract for Success in the Ecological Transition (CRTE), contract established between the State, the Calvados Departmental Council and PBI.

Since its initial signing in July 2021, 58 projects were registered with the CRTE. With a first mid-term review “positive with the realization of 30 projects » (in areas such as the improvement of public services, culture, soft mobility, sports equipment, etc.), which altogether represent an investment of nearly 13 million euros excluding tax.

Making the Pré-Bocage area more attractive

However, amendment no. 3 allows the integration of 12 new projects“in addition to the 21 projects in amendment 2 which had to be postponed”.

These 12 projects in question are mostly integrated “in the component of demographic transition », with the idea of making the territory ever more attractive.

With, for example, the construction of the departmental gendarmerie as well as the work on the community crèche in Aunay, or the development of Place de Gaulle and the renovation of the Saint-Martin church in Villers-Bocage.

11 other projects for the “Small Cities of Tomorrow”

The second signature this time focuses on the Small Towns of Tomorrow system (PVD), which aims to improve the living conditions of residents of small towns and surrounding areas, by supporting communities “in dynamic and environmentally friendly trajectories”.

In the PBI territory, they are three to be affectedsince 2021: Les Monts d'Aunay, Villers-Bocage and Caumont-sur-Aure.

If the support offered by this program “has enabled the intercommunality and the municipalities to specify and implement their initial territorial projects”, they do not want to stop there; signed in the wake of that of the CRTE, the first amendment to Petites Villes de Demain made it possible to add 11 new projects to the 49 that had already been launched.

Nearly a third completed, and another delayed

Of these 60 projects, 18 have been completed (rehabilitation of the elementary school in Aunay, revegetation of rue Saint-Martin in Villers, etc.), 16 are in progress (development of the Place du Maréchal Leclerc in Villers, demolition and reconstruction of the intercommunal gymnasium in Aunay, etc.), 7 are in the feasibility study phase (requalification of the Weldom wasteland into suitable housing for seniors in Aunay, development of the square de Gaulle to Villers…), and the last 19 have been postponed until after 2026.

Finally, the amendment also made it possible to modify the “ intervention perimeters » cities in developing countries (including the integration of rue de and the intercommunal gymnasium in Aunay), knowing that these perimeters allow municipalities to “have access to legal and tax rights to strengthen the attractiveness of town centers and benefit from loans with the Banque des Territoires if necessary.
