Following Météo France forecasts which announce the passage of depression Floriane in Hauts-de-France from this Monday, January 6, several “security measures and adaptations to the transport plan” were taken by the SNCF.
The “preventive” stoppage of rail traffic has been decided on several lines. This measure “prevents trains with passengers from being blocked in line due to falling trees in particular“, she explains in a press release.
The SNCF specifies that no road substitution will be put in place. “Before going to the station, we recommend that travelers check the timetable of their trains on the usual information channels“, she continues.
Throughout this meteorological episode, operators will be present in the operational crisis management centers to coordinate “installation verification and repair operations“, if these are necessary.
Furthermore, reconnaissance movements by empty trains “with their on board SNCF Réseau agents equipped with chainsaws” will be carried out at the end of the storm to allow traffic to resume in complete safety.
