In Lancashire, United Kingdom, the vehicle of a sixty-year-old man was seized on December 30 by the authorities. Surprise, the man had been driving with a license that had expired since… 1975.

An outlaw Range Rover. On December 30, a British motorist was arrested by police in Lancashire, United Kingdom, for a minor offense related to the technical inspection in force in the country.

During the procedure, the authorities discovered that the sixty-year-old was driving with a provisional license that had expired 49 years ago, local police reported on their X account.

“When you knowingly drive without a technical inspection, don't be surprised if additional checks are carried out. This driver drove for 49 years with an expired provisional license,” she wrote.

A driver reported

In fact, every year, the authorities carry out the MOT test. This check was put in place to assess the safety of cars over three years old.

In their message, Lancashire Police announced that they had seized the offending vehicle and reported the driver.

Established in the United Kingdom in 1960, the MOT test will be valid for one year once carried out, indicates the British government website. If a driver decides to drive without having complied with this control, the latter can be prosecuted and fined up to 1,000 pounds sterling (approximately 1,200 euros). There is no doubt that with his lack of a valid license for almost half a century, the bill risks being much higher for this irresponsible driver.
