They won gold in 2024 for the brioche pancake! But there’s no question of resting on one’s laurels. THE Creon's Ovenlocated about 40 minutes from Bordeaux, is once again in the spotlight.
The Creonese bakery and pastry shop, represented by its pastry chef Julien Bardinaudproudly rose to first place for the best frangipane pancakes in Gironde during the departmental competition organized by the Federation of Artisan Bakers and Pastry Chefs of Gironde.
The star of the house is concocted every day with a ppuff pastry made with AOP Poitou-Charentes butter and almond cream prepared with AOP Poitou-Charentes butter, almond powder, homemade pastry cream, free-range eggs and organic vanilla. “The secret of this preparation? Lots of love!” smiles Anthony Cloarec, the manager of the house.
The frangipane pancake is available in 3 formats: small: €15, medium: €19 and large: €24. “For a decidedly French final touch, we have chosen, like every year, artisanal earthenware beans from the Colas Clamecy earthenware factory, the last earthenware factory of this type in France. This collection highlights little hedgehogs, adorable and unique” he tells us.
Cakes and brioches are available throughout the month of January.
