A new challenge for Maxime Switek. From this Monday, January 6, 2025, he will be at the helm of “20H BFM” from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on BFMTV. On this occasion, the 44-year-old journalist gave an interview to “La Tribune Dimanche”.
“We are going to try to dust off this format”
During his interview with media journalist Rémi Jacob, Maxime Switek gave more details on this daily newspaper. “We will offer viewers an 20 Hours with all its codes, but adding a little “twist”. We are going to try to dust off this format, moving away from the classic litany and bringing some good humor. Those who follow me on BFMTV know that even if I am serious and rigorous, I always have a little eye that curls”, he said.
The one who officiated on the Europe 1 station where he occupied several slots, as a columnist and presenter, continued: “I am aware that the guests do not yet know about this new meeting. But our ambition is to tickle TF1 and France 2 a little so that important speeches are also made here. And this in all areas”.
During this same interview, Maxime Switek explained: “We want to stand out from what is done elsewhere. We will have a dispassionate approach, placing current events and their decryption at the heart of our program. The objective is to listen to yourself and not go headlong on this or that obsession. Dialogue and calm are pretty good, right?”.

Concerning the audiences, the former columnist of the show “C à vous” on France 5 specified: “We want to make progress. Not everything will be perfect from the start. The advantage of being live is that we can rectify things. In three months, the program will probably not completely resemble the one you will see on Monday… We are going there with a lot of modesty, but of course we want to seek out all the competitors”.
