Two departments will be on orange “wind” alert, Sunday January 5 from 8 p.m. These are the Loire and the Rhône, according to the Météo-France bulletin. “With the approach of a disturbance on the Atlantic coasts, the wind will strengthen over the country during the day on Sunday”describes the forecaster. “The southerly wind will become particularly strong from Sunday evening to Monday early afternoon in the Rhône-Alpes region, particularly in the south of the departments” concerned, he specifies.
Gusts could reach 90 to 100 km/h overnight, and locally around 110 to 120 km/h. Météo-France forecasts two peaks of violent winds: “The first in the middle of the night from Sunday to Monday, the second in the late morning-midday of Monday.”
