Saturday evening, a serious accident occurred in the Écouves forest. The two passengers in the vehicle were transported to hospital in an absolute emergency, their dog was taken care of by the town hall.

The Orne department was placed on orange alert on the evening of Saturday January 4, for the risk of freezing rain and snowfall. Weather conditions which may have impacted the journey of two people of English origin.

These two individuals were driving on the RD 226 towards -Médavy and the Médavy tank (Orne), when they saw their car suddenly end up in a tree.

The car accident took place around 8 p.m. at Orée d'Écouves, near the town of Fontenai-les-Louvets. Injured, the two passengers received first aid on site before being transported in a state of “absolute emergency” to the Alençon CH, according to Sdis 61.

In total, twelve firefighters from Saint-Denis, Alençons and Carrouges intervened. The gendarmerie also came. The intervention ended around midnight.

The “Bernese mountain dog type” dog was not injured and was taken care of by the town hall. An investigation is obviously underway to determine the causes of the accident, and in particular to see if weather conditions could have caused this accident.
