A solidarity race for the victims of Mayotte
#SÈTE – More than a hundred Sète residents did not hesitate to start the “Solidarity Run” organized this Saturday, January 4, 2025 by US Sète athletics on the Lido de Sète. A race set up at short notice for the benefit of the victims of Cyclone Chido in Mayotte. A Nice attendance success. The club recorded no less than 114 registrations (free). Young and old, running or walking, with or without their pet, the runners set off around 4 p.m. on two courses (5 and 10 km) with a return in the sand. And everyone made a donation. Small sums which, in the end, allowed the USSA to raise €1,177 donated to the Red Cross.
New air destinations opened
#NIMES – Announced on October 21 for the end of 2024, the opening of seven new airlines departing from Nîmes-Grande-Provence-Mediterranean is partly realized after a postponement and a hiccup. From the website of the airline L'Odyssey, it is in fact possible to book a flight from Nîmes to Nice, Ajaccio and Bastia or even Bergamo, in Italy, a city located 45 km north of Milan. The first prices are displayed at 69 euros for a one-way ticket to Nice (May 30, 2025). Jet Airlines, the company of L'Odyssey, will operate one flight per week to each destination from Nîmes. Concerning the lines to Geneva, Verona or Barcelona, which are also in the pipeline, reservations are not yet open. The safe and certain opening of these three lines has not been confirmed this Friday, January 3, 2025, the modalities still being determined by the airline.
International Political Film Festival: the full jury
#Carcassonne – The actress Anne Consigny (nominated for a César in the Best Actress category) and the producer Christophe Rossignon (Hate, At war) complete the Fiction jury of the Carcassonne International Political Film Festival which takes place from January 16 to 20. They join the actress Alice Isaaz, the Franco-Algerian director Mounia Meddour (Papicha, Houria) and actor Pierre Deladonchamps (César for Most Promising Actor in 2014), to award the Grand Prize for Best Fiction Feature Film and Special Mention. The festival offers around forty films on themes such as freedom, resistance, social and environmental justice.

The 36-year-old from Bagnolais has just spent 500 days on the roads and paths of France, or 12,000 kilometers punctuated by encounters and discoveries that they share with 46,000 people who “follow” him on social networks. The former manager of a media house has now undertaken the writing of a book retracing his human adventure across the four corners of France. And he is preparing to leave soon for Corsica and Sardinia.
“The best bakery in France”: Gard in the spotlight
#TELEVISION – The show's jury The best bakery in France (M6) will travel the roads of Gard from this Monday, January 6, 2025. Noémie Honiat, based in Aveyron, Bruno Comerais and Gers chef Michel Sarran will judge the quality of the work of the bakers in Aigues-Mortes, Sainte-Croix-de-Quintillargues, Garons and Saint-Hilaire-de-Brethmas. In total, ten bakeries will be in competition, from January 6 to 10 (broadcast at 6:35 p.m.). With the hope of course of doing as well as La fougasse d'Uzès which won the title during season 6 in 2018.
