The night from Friday to Saturday was particularly cold in the Jura and specifically in the Combe-Noirenear Mignovillard. This town located in Haut-Jura and bordering the department is a regular at cold records. On the night of Friday January 3 to Saturday January 4, a minimum of -33.9°C was measured by the Localsat group as revealed by the Météo franc-comtoise website.

Coldest temperatures since 2013

It is in Haut-Jura and Haut-Doubs that temperatures reached these totally Siberian values… very often the coldest since February 2013.

This uninhabited corner, considered the coldest in , did better in January 2023 with -36.4°C where conditions were better.

Colder than in Mouthe

In the Doubs, although the village of Mouthe recorded a minimum temperature of -19.0°C early this morning, the hamlet of Reculfoz (25) particularly marked the spirits with a -28.1°C at the coldest of at night. Located just 3 kilometers from Mouthe as the crow flies, this valley, which is home to a few homes, is renowned for its temperatures that are systematically lower than those of Mouthe.
