The Head of State, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, has appointed eight new members of the National Audiovisual Regulatory Council (CNRA), we learned from an official source.
”On the proposal of the Minister of Communication, Telecommunications and Digital Affairs, are appointed members of the National Audiovisual Regulatory Council, for a period of 6 years, non-renewable and non-revocable, from December 11, 2024” , indicates the decree of which the APS became aware on Friday.
The Minister, Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic and the Minister of Communication, Telecommunications and Digital Affairs are each responsible, as far as they are concerned, for the execution of this decree which will be published in the Official Journal.
Last October, President Faye appointed by decree the journalist Mamadou Oumar Ndiaye, who until then headed the private daily Le Témoin, president of the CNRA, replacing his colleague Babacar Diagne whose mandate had expired.
The new members of the CNRA are:
- Mr. Mahamadou Diarra, Cultural actor, as qualified personalities in the arts, replacing Mr. Pape Faye;
- Mr. Papa Mamadou Tandian, Retired Civil Servant, holder of a Master’s degree in economics, for associations of people of the elderly, replacing Mr. Ibrahima Sané;
- Madame Aoua Bocar Ly-Tall, Sociologist, holder of a Doctorate in sociology, as qualified personalities in the literary world, vacant position;
- Mr. Salif Sané, Teacher – researcher, holder of a State Doctorate in public law, as part of the university community, replacing Mr. Djiby Diakhaté
- Madame Maimouna Makoar Diouf, Sociologist, responsible for Gender Advocacy and Communication, on behalf of women’s associations, replacing Madame Ndèye Marie Diédhiou;
- Mr. Malick Ciré Sy, Journalist, President of the Board of Directors of RADDHO, in respect of human rights movements, replacing Mr. Mame Balla Guèye;
- Mr. Papa Madiakhaté Sarr, Journalist, Head of Communications for the Departmental Youth Council of Pikine, on behalf of the National Youth Council, replacing Mr. Khadim Diop;
- Mr. Oumar Diouf Fall, Journalist, holder of a Higher Diploma in Journalism, as a professional in audiovisual communication, replacing Mr. Lucky Patrick Mendy.
