The emblematic hooker of the Ile-de- club had been laid off for two weeks. The day after the players' Christmas meal, he arrived at training drunk.

The end of a twelve-year adventure. Arriving at the club at the age of 17, Camille Chat hoped to spend his entire career in the Ciel-et-Blanc jersey. Everything suggested this when, in 2022, he had extended his lease for five additional seasons.

And then, on Monday December 16, the day after the Christmas meal between players, Camille Chat (29 years old, 33 caps) showed up heavily intoxicated at training. Another hooker of the team, Janick Tarrit, was not presented at all, victim of a waking failure.

Previously involved in a drunken case

For these slip-ups, the two players were suspended for 15 days by their club. But if Tarrit had resumed training, this was not the case for Camille Chat. According to Midi Olympique and L'Équipe, the player and the club's management negotiated an amicable separation. And Chat's departure would have been announced to the rest of the workforce this Monday morning.

A severe sanction which is explained by the player's past, already involved in a drunken affair in May 2023. During a Racing 92 training course, he hit his Fijian teammate, Vinaya Habosi, in the face.
