Greater Paris: with the ban on Crit'Air 3 vehicles, how to obtain a pass to drive anyway

The decision was taken 15 days before the entry into force of the third stage of the low emissions-mobility zone (ZFE-m) of the Metropolis and the driving ban for Crit'Air 3 vehicles. For three years , individuals who own a Crit'Air 5, 4 or 3 vehicle will be able to request a ZFE pass from the Métropole du Grand (MGP). This sesame will allow them to move freely during the week 24 days a year.

To obtain it, simply connect to the platform just put online by MGP. Individuals simply enter their license plate number to make their request.

Their pass will be operational a fortnight later. But be careful, to use this pass, you will also have to make a request 24 hours before the big day when the driver wishes to drive his vehicle without constraint. For example, if you need to ride on Thursday, January 23 in the middle of the day, you will need to make the request by Wednesday, January 22 at the latest.

“This will make it possible to keep a count of the days already used by the driver,” the MGP is told. And in the event of an inspection, even if no fines are planned during 2025, the police will be able to check that your pass is up to date.

For professionals who need their Crit'Air 3 to work, the MGP has decided to introduce exemptions. 22 in total. This ranges from companies dedicated to help and support services, to itinerant traders who do the markets but also people affected by a long-term illness. The full list can be found here.

To obtain the exemption, you must also connect to the MGP platform but this time supporting documents (such as a copy of the registration certificate or a professional card, etc.) may be requested. Exemptions will be valid for between one and three years depending on the case.
